Heidi Bucher’s sculptures took many forms over the course of a long career, but they formed part of a continual enquiry into forms of constraint and liberation, as experienced by the body in space. This show of more than 70 works at the Muzeum Susch in Zernez, Switzerland – the artist’s native country – focuses on the performative nature of Bucher’s work (16 July–4 December). It opens with the artist’s early ‘skinnings’, the wearable Bodyshells made of latex and gauze for which the artist became known during the 1970s. Highlights include Bucher’s Bed (1975), a vast hanging of latex and fabric – and the impressive costume piece, Dragonfly (1976). Find out more on the Muzeum Susch’s website.
