Founder and CEO, Oarbt, London
We take online viewing rooms for granted now, but Sharon Obuobi was ahead of the game when she founded Oarbt in 2019. The platform allows artists and gallerists to design immersive 3D exhibitions and showrooms online, with no coding know-how required. Users can create virtual spaces using a simple ‘drag and drop’ toolkit; meanwhile, real-time data analytics provide insights on how prospective clients are using the virtual showrooms to maximise sales. As part of a varied career, the writer, curator and entrepreneur also produces a podcast, ‘In Studio’, for which she has interviewed artists and curators including Hans Ulrich Obrist, Serge Attukwei Clottey and Lina Iris Viktor. Obuobi previously worked at Sotheby’s as a founding member of its Modern & Contemporary African Art department.
