Adam Weinberg became the Alice Pratt Brown Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2003, and has been responsible for steering the institution into its new home in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. He first joined the Whitney in 1989, later becoming Curator and Senior Curator of the Permanent Collection. From 1999 to 2003, he was the Director of the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy, Mass.
