Caline Aoun uses digital printing and photography to explore the effects of technology and globalism on how we share information. Deriving source material from the world around her, including advertising and urban planning, the artist adresses themes of excess and consumerism. She has had solo presentations at the Maxxi in Rome, Marfa’ in Beirut, Grey Noise in Dubai and at Art Basel. This year she took part in the Sharjah Biennial and in 2012 she was included in the Beirut Art Center’s ‘Exposure’ group exhibition. Aoun was Deutsche Bank Artist of the Year in 2018 and this autumn has a solo exhibition opening at the PalaisPopulaire, the bank’s cultural forum in Berlin.
