Gallery: ‘Discovering Tutankhamun’ at the Ashmolean Museum

20 July 2014

The discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt in 1922 was not only of major archaeological significance, it also inspired important political debates, popular culture and new fashions. The Ashmolean Museum draws on the Griffith Institute’s archive to look at the legacy of King Tut on 20th-century society.
