As the creative lynchpin in his family’s Galeries Lafayette department store chain, Guillaume Houzé has successfully merged the roles of entrepreneur and art collector, spearheading projects including an exhibition by David Lynch. Since 2005, Houzé and his grandmother Ginette Moulin have presented contemporary art in La Galerie des Galeries, a space within the flagship branch. Their own collection includes works by Cyprien Gaillard, Wade Guyton, Tatiana Trouvé, Ugo Rondinone and David Noonan. A permanent foundation will open in 2016 in the Marais quarter – ‘anything but a jewellery box…I want it to be a place of life, speech and ideas.’
