Founder, Treeline Urban Resort, Siem Reap
Hok Kang was just 26 when, returning to Cambodia after completing his studies in the United States, he founded Hok Kang Architects & Partners in Phnom Penh; he has since made a name for himself as one of the leading young architects in the country. In 2019, he founded Treeline Urban Resort in Siem Reap – a luxury art and design hotel with a private collection of commissioned works by some of the country’s leading artists and craftspeople, among them Sopheap Pich and Thang Sothea. Temporary exhibitions of art from Cambodia have been held at the Treeline Gallery; there are plans in the offing to create a Treeline Arts Foundation with an artist-in-residency programme, and the organisation has awarded a series of grants to emerging artists from the region.
