Irmina Nazar and Artur Trawinksi are the founders of the European ArtEast Foundation, which supports visual art from Eastern Europe – developing the discourse surrounding contemporary art from the region and encouraging the rediscovery of post-war artists through exhibitions, research and publications. As a collector, Artur is particularly interested in Abstract Expressionism from the 1960s, and corresponding work from Poland. Irmina is founder of the Fangor Foundation, which preserves the legacy of Polish artist Wojciech Fangor through archiving, documentation and driving curatorial interest. Nazar and Trawinski are both members of the International Circle acquisition committee at the Centre Pompidou.
