Independent researcher, Beirut
A Fulbright scholarship took Khouri to Amman in 2007, after which she co-founded the History of Arab Modernities in the Visual Arts Study Group, a research platform that focuses on the documentation of art in the Arab world from the 1950s to 1980s. Since then she has been awarded research residencies at Makan in Amman, the Delfina Foundation in London and Sultan Gallery in Kuwait, where she curated an exhibition drawing on the gallery’s archives. Khouri was on the Art Dubai Modern Selection Committee from 2014 to 2017. She was the co-organiser of ‘Past Disquiet’ at MACBA in 2015 (which travelled to the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin the following year) and of the ‘Digital Methodologies’ workshop at marra.tein, Beirut in 2017.
