The Northern Renaissance and 19th-century French painting are not things that one intuitively associates with contemporary art collectors. That the collection of Lin Han and Wanwan Lei includes works from these periods, alongside ancient Chinese sculpture and a wide range of international contemporary art, is testament to both their ambition and a very personal engagement with art. Founders of the M WOODS museum in 2014, in which their collection is accessible to the public, the couple are truly in the vanguard when it comes to forging a dynamic new cultural scene in Beijing.
