While some museums remain shuttered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibitions will include shows at institutions that are now reopening as well as digital projects providing virtual access to art and culture.
This display at the newly reopened Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries, curated by Amanda Game and commissioned by Fife Contemporary, looks at the how the art of drawing has evolved in Scotland over the course of the last century (until 25 October). With works by 23 artists spanning three generations, the show includes line drawings by the likes of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and Elizabeth Blackadder, while also exploring the importance of draughtsmanship to those working in other mediums, with etchings, watercolours, animations by David Shrigley, and chased silver vessels by Michael Lloyd. Find out more from the Fife Cultural Trust website – or visit Fife Contemporary’s digital platform for an online complement to the show.
