Founder and creative director, Arebyte, London
In 2013 Nimrod Vardi founded Arebyte, a non-profit centre for digital, new media and performance art in London, which has since established itself at the forefront of its field. The organisation has a gallery space on London City Island, a recently redeveloped site on the Leamouth Peninsula where the English National Ballet has also set up a new home. Alongside exhibitions, for which it regularly commissions work, Arebyte provides an educational programme, with artist-led workshops on digital theory and introductions to software and hardware with creative applications. In his own research, Vardi looks at methods to engage with internet-based arts both online and offline. He is also the founder of Arebyte Studios, which provides affordable workspaces for artists and creatives in London – and helps to fund the gallery’s ambitious programme.
