Bringing together sculpture and found objects, Tabet creates installations that use personal narratives to create alternative socio-political histories of Lebanon and the Middle East, with a particular focus on the built environment. In 2011 he received an emerging artist award at the Sharjah Biennial. In 2012 he won a special prize of the Future Generation Art Prize, and he was awarded an Abraaj Group Art Prize a year later. Past exhibitions of Tabet’s work have been held at Carré d’Art, Nîmes, Kunstverein in Hamburg, and Witte de With Center; in autumn 2019 he will have solo exhibitions at Parasol unit in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
