Rik Reinking

Self-made Rik Reinking is proud of being an art world outsider, yet has amassed an enviable and formidable collection: Sammlung Reinking features some 200 artists – from icons of Minimalism to Fluxus to contemporary street art – and hosts a busy programme of temporary exhibitions. Also a critic and dealer, Reinking began acquiring at the age of 16: ‘there are artists in my collection that I could no longer afford today’, he has admitted. He owns works by artists as disparate as Carl Andre, Cady Noland, Barbara Kruger, Rosemarie Trockel, and various graffiti artists. Reinking founded Artfonds 21 AG in 2007, a stock corporation that collects and trades art.
