A wind of change is blowing through the municipal museums of Paris. Among the dynamic figures recently to have been appointed at directorial level is Rose-Marie Mousseaux, who has taken the reins at the Musée Cognacq-Jay. An expert in Etruscan archaeology and formerly a conservationist at the Musée Carnavalet, Mousseaux has been responsible for several acclaimed exhibitions on the archaeological history of Paris. It will be fascinating to see how she sets about reinvigorating this outstanding collection of 18th-century fine and decorative arts.
