Taiwan has a strong collector base, but one that’s often thought to have more conservative tastes than its regional counterparts. Shelly Wu, the daughter of the established gallerist Tina Keng, is working to change that, having launched TKG+ in 2009 and, in 2013, TKG+ Projects, to champion experimental art in a diverse range of media. She has also been instrumental in bringing cutting-edge Taiwanese artists from the gallery’s stable to international attention: Wu Tien-Chang showed at the Venice Biennale last year, while Jao Chia-En will be included in an exhibition at the Guggenheim in New York this autumn.
