Jakarta, Indonesia
In countries with a young museum culture, local artists often reach both national and international audiences through temporary exhibitions and private initiatives. The businessman and collector Tom Tandio has been closely involved in that process in Indonesia, having served on the board of the Biennale Jogja, Yogyakarta, and launched IndoArtNow.com, an online platform archiving works by contemporary Indonesian artists. His own collection concentrates on Southeast Asian contemporary art, and he supports emerging Indonesian artists such as Eko Nugroho. He is currently the President of the Board of Young Collectors for the Art Stage Jakarta art fair.
