Artistic Director, OCT Contemporary Art Terminal, Shenzhen and Beijing, China
Venus Lau won the Chinese Contemporary Art Award for Critics in 2011 for her proposal for rethinking ideas of institutional critique in a Chinese context. Since then, she appears to have been putting theory into practice, in roles including that of Chairman of the Society for Experimental Cultural Production in Hong Kong. She is a consulting curator at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, where she curated the ‘Secret Timezones Trilogy’, an exhibition series featuring leading contemporary Asian artists including Ming Wong and Haegue Yang.
