While some museums are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibitions will include shows at institutions that are currently open as well as digital projects providing virtual access to art and culture.
The collection of the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam includes some 37,000 Dutch and international film titles. Like so many museums across Europe, it is currently closed to the public – however with its dedicated online player, which was officially launched this month, you can continue to watch a vast number of films from its continually growing archives. There are new releases available to rent, but also cinematic classics and documentaries dating back to the very earliest days of cinema in the late 19th century, many of which are freely available. Browse through the Eye Film Player here.
