Interior in Berlin refurbished to plans by Le Corbusier | The German-American architect Philipp Mohr has completed the refurbishment of an apartment in Berlin, following the unrealised plans of the Swiss-French modernist architect Le Corbusier, reports Dezeen. The apartment is located in Berlin’s Unité d’Habitation, which was designed by Le Corbusier and constructed in 1958. A disagreement between the architect and local planning authorities saw significant alterations to the interior plan, however. Mohr purchased the apartment in 2016, and decided to refurbish after realising that the building’s interior had originally been intended to correspond with the original Unité d’Habitation in Marseille.

Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts to take over the Brodsky Centre | The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) has announced that it is to take over the Brodsky Center for Innovative Print and Paper, currently located at Rutgers University in New Jersey. According to Artforum, the printmaking organisation, which was established by the artist, educator and arts advocate Judith Brodsky in 1986, will continue to be led by current president Paola Morsiani, who will become a part of the PAFA team. PAFA will accession a number of the centre’s 3,000 prints into its own collection, while the remainder will be put up for sale to help fund the future of the centre.

Brook Andrew appointed artistic director of 22nd Biennale of Sydney |  The Biennale of Sydney has announced that the artist Brook Andrew is to be the Artistic Director of its 22nd edition, to be held in 2020. Andrew’s artistic practice over the last two decades has focused on providing alternatives to dominant narratives, in particular those which relate to the legacy of colonialism and to Australia’s place within it.
